potatoes in bags

I have grown potatoes in bags before with few problems . This time,  although all the bags produced leaves and i added more compost as they grew, 2 of the bags have lost their leaves - they look as though they have been chewed off.  - any ideas why? and are the potatoes now lost?

You will need to have a feel round in the soil to see if the tubers are forming.
Do you mean the leaves are chewed or the growing point ?
Depends what variety and when you planted them as to whether you would expect to be harvesting now or later in the year.
If all the leaves have been eaten, best to dig up and see if you have anything worth eating.
Maybe @ Dovefromabove could advise you.
