Hello All

Are all lavenders perennials? Which ones would be winter hardy?

    Hi @thistletown71 are you in the UK? Generally the ones with ‘angustifolia’ or ‘intermedia’ in their name are hardy, sadly not the French ones (stoechas) with the tufted ears — at least not for me.

    Depends on your location. If you're in the south of France all of them would be reliably parennial. In the UK not so much especially with the fancy French varieties.

    Can lavenders be planted under a bush? Partial sun and partial shade?

    Ideally they like full sun and good drainage. I think they would struggle under a bush, as they wouldn't get enough light. Could you extend the bed and plant them in front of the bush or bushes?

    They would grow leggy and reach out towards the sun, and probably go bare at the base and at the back where it's shaded.
