Ragged Robin problem?

Hello,

I recently planted a ragged robin in my new pond. The leaves are turning red and wanted to check if that was normal, they look pretty but I thought they are normally green. The crown is just below the water level and gets the sun all morning till about 2 pm.

I also have a bog garden (where my old pond was), I wonder if it would be better there but it'd be west facing so full sun all day long.

Thanks for your help.

Sara

They do that. When you get fed up with them pull them out. They will have seeded everywhere and you'll have more than enough next year
    In London. Keen but lazy.

They would be happier in a bog than permanently covered in water.

This is mine at the bottom of a slight slope so a bit boggy. It's the best it's done ever this year, I guess due to all of the rain a couple of weeks back. The bees go berserk for it.

Looks great harvestcco, my first flush is over but I usually get a second one by cutting the spent stems back. I agree the bees go mad for it and it looks so pretty bobbing around in the breeze.
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.
  • Thank you everyone!!. I've moved it to the boggy area now. See how it goes, leaves are all red now but there seems to be new ones coming out and started to flower.
