Hibiscus Syriacus Ardens Issues
Hello, i have had a Hibiscus Syriacus Ardens for around two years now, but just cant get it to grow properly after such a long time. I have kept it damp, well fed and in good sunlight (facing east).
I kept it indoors as anytime i have put it outside in the past it really struggled, it has also hardly grown in two years so its still small. When put outside in the sun its leaves go yellow or shrivels up or they fall off. Have just had to take it in again today because the leaves are shriveling up again and starting to go yellow (was in really good sun, fed and watered).
Next odd thing about the plant is it grows and flowered in January this year.
There are one or two issues on the plant i have noticed (as seen in images below)
- Black wax like stuff on near the bottom of the plant
- Lots of odd pellet like insect droppings at the bottom of the pot and top (cant see any insects though)
- Grows in January
Any help would be appreciated as i love Hibiscus but have always failed to grow them.
Thanks,
David

I had a hibiscus years ago that grew well in the garden.
They are outdoor plants and I'd imagine if you keep it inside, it's confused about what time of year it is, so it flowered in January.
Also, if you keep it indoors then expose it to full sun, it'll get sunburn, which is why the leaves yellow and drop. It needs to be acclimated to sun and outdoor life little by little.
They're very hardy plants and best grown in the garden, though I have seen them grown in big pots too outside.
