@Kili we’ve been talking about Nepeta x faassenii (clump forming, with spikes of purple flowers) — I think what you use for hanging baskets is Nepeta variegata
The trailing nepeta sold for baskets is Glechoma hederaceae. I don't know whether nepeta is its common name, or a family name (maybe it's related to catnip) or whether it's had a change of botanical name and the old one's stuck.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
I got Six Hills Giant in a 'lucky dip' of a dozen perennials. Much munching! To the extent that one fine morning I had a couple of cat vomit deposits on the patio. I didn't feel lucky
@Biglad, bleurgh. So I was reading this thread and wavering, possibly thinking about trying one or two varieties in pots so that I could remove them henceforth forthwith in the event of a feline stalker, but honestly your post has very much helped me to come to my decision...
We have 5 regular feline visitors swanning through our back garden. I don't know which one 'enjoyed' the nepeta or which one uses my property as a toilet. It may be the same one. It may be more than one. However, even if only a small percentage of cats are attracted, it's a no-brainer for me, I'm afraid.

A plant for foliage only?
Thanks @JennyJ for the other name!

@Plantminded I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for you.
