I'm still coveting a good late flowering allium that will grow well (pref white), summer drummer and white cloud down prosper for me, so any suggestions welcome
Not sure if you like the shape but Nigrum is a white late flowering one.

Great chart @Elfer! Do Globemaster or Gladiator ever need staking? I’m very anti staking…

Thanks @elfer, thats a handy chart, I havent tried Nigrum, will give it a go!

@athelas Ive got a couple fo globe master and they dont need staking, theyre pretty robust. Their foliage takes up a lot of room though, so theyre not for the faint hearted

I love my sensational Allium Christophii, started out with just 5 bulbs over 5 years ago but now they have self-seeded right through my big border. they look gorgeous with pink roses. I dig out loads out every year and give them away. I have to steel myself now to cut off the equally lovely seed heads to prevent more self-seeding.
I don't find Purple Sensation very good, tried the white ones but they grow like weeds but allium sphaerocephalon is graceful so it stays.

Thanks @Jellyfire (also your garden is just lovely!), I’ll look into it and also the ones you mentioned @Lizzie27.

I love my alliums, but not as much as the bees!

I think I may have mentioned further up that it is unusual to see so many species of bees and other pollinators use one type of globe allium.

@Athelas @Jellyfire you're welcome. I only have experience with mount Everest and purple sensation and my first year at that. I have 3 of each, love Mount Everest, stem is very upright with a good height and head size. My purple sensations haven't quite peaked yet but all are shorter and different height and not perfectly upright ..... yet. Will report back with pictures of both once they are at optimum maturity.

According to the chart purple sensation should have reached maturity before Mount Everest but it's the other way around in my garden, only by a few days or a week I guess. Would be great to hear from others re their experience with flowering time of various types in comparison to the chart.
