Box / Buxus in Pot

Last year I planted 2 Buxus bushes into two pots. One is thriving and has produced lots of new green growth. So no concers. The other has not produced any new growth, and whilst not appearing to be dieing, is just not thriving. Both are planted in the same pots and are located very close to one another. Any idea what is going wrong with the more anemic plant

Is it perhaps being shaded by the other plant? You could try swopping them around to see if that makes a difference.
You could also try taking the poorly plant gently out of its pot and looking at the root system to see if there any concerns there.

Thanks! I did wonder if shade might be a problem so will put it somewhere sunnier in the first instance.
