Is banana peel liquid fertiliser worth making?

Hi all, I'm thinking about making some liquid fertiliser for my plants. Came across the idea of putting banana peel into water to steep it, but there are also loads of discussions about how it may or may not work. Wondering if anyone's actually tried it please? Thanks!

It would add a modicum, and only a modicum, of potassium to the soil which might be beneficial if your soil needs it, and it probably doesn’t. However the return for the effort is not worth it. Smelly, messy, and a long time in the making (unless you have a prodigious appetite for bananas), I would forget the idea.

Banana skin advocates are a vociferous bunch of social media, forever harping on about the benefits. Oddly nobody holds up a candle for the humble beetroot which contains more potassium.

I agree ... any potassium they contain will then be in the compost and you can use it as a mulch.
