Orange blotches on leaves and new stems of Hawthorn trees/bushes.

I'm not sure when it started but I have noticed that all of the hawthorn trees and bushes in our garden have developed orange blotches on their leaves and new stems. (see picture)
Some of the orange patches are also wet to the touch.
