Ceonothus stopped flowering

Morning
My ceonothus has not flowered this year and the branches are dry and brittle. Has it died? Or shall I leave it and see if it is having a year off? It was beautiful last year. I gave it a light trim but that is all

Welcome to the forum Jacqui  :)
Ceanothus can be fussy things, and the stems are extremely brittle. How long have you had it ,and do you know which variety it is?

Thank you so much for replying
I don’t know what sort it is as it was here when I moved in 2.5yrs ago
i broke the stem recently as I assumed it was dead. There is certainly no life in that branch

Sorry Jacqui, l've only just seen this. I agree, it's had it.
Ceanothus are comparatively short lived. Look on it as a planting opportunity  :)
  • Hi Anni
No problem at all, sorry I didn’t see your first reply!
