Bees and a Laurel Hedge.

I have bees buzzing along my laurel hedge that has no flowers or buds on it.

? What are they looking for.
Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.

    It could be the extrafloral nectaries .... some info. here.

    Laurel, Prunus laurocerasus, a common plant in UK gardens and parks possesses extrafloral nectaries that attract insects, particularly honeybees and wasps. Nectaries are located at the base of the leaf blade close to the petiole and consist of thickened layers of secretory cells forming raised bumps of tissue.

    Thank you.

    Just back from the allotment and the 12 foot long hedge of Phacelia is covered in bees.

    Comphrey and Borage and Lavender and others all feeding our vital friends.

    And helping me relax as I watch the Froglets trying to jump in and out of the pond. 

     :p
