Dahlias

Please would you be able to advise me as I am a beginner and I wish to plant some dahlias which I have grown in 3 litre pots and some dahlia tubers.
Please could you advise me as the best way to deter slugs, snails and earwigs from gobbling up the tubers and dahlia plants as I would like to plant some in the ground as well as pots.

    I grow mine in pots and don't plant them out until they are large plants. This gives them the best chance of withstanding mollusc attack.

    I would put them in as high and big a pot / bin as you can find.
