This is just to say I still have not got a gardener. A distant cousin who is a policeman said that the reason I was having difficulty contacting a college was because they have to be so careful who they might send their students to so they dont. So I fear being scammed and I hate to think what they fear. Evenso cant criticize the colleges for protecting their students.
My little garden is environmentally friendly if nothing else!!! The jasmine is so overgrown I think it could hide a fox...or 2.
Apologies, I didn't see that @Fire had tagged me until just now. I'm in SE, not SW, London so not that close to you in order to be able to recommend people (ditto for @B3). But when I was studying at Capel Manor in Regent's Park, the other students came from all over London and the South East, and there was a jobs noticeboard in the kitchen. I don't know how it was arranged, but you could phone and ask if it's possible to place an ad on the noticeboard?
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Have you asked neighbours if they could recommend someone? Maybe if you can't find a gardener would you consider having raised beds\slabs laid to make it easier for you to manage.
This saddens me greatly. What a horrible society we live in with scammers, fear, legislation/red tape and a complete lack of support/help for those that have paid their dues and should be entitled to expect a little bit back (especially when they're willing to pay a fair price for it)
