Rose Blue For You

This rose has been in s bed for about ,5 years,buds normally deep purple, just toured the plot, one of the buds I'd pure white,any thoughts?

    If it's been there from last year then it's probably a sucker.. please show a photo.. thanks..

    Where did ",if it's been there since last year come From"? The rose has been there about 5 years, always been the same colour, never been a white bud before. There are no suckers.

    Does the flower have the same form and number of petals as the purple ones?

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    ..if it's a sucker, and it's been growing since last year unnoticed, then it will flower this year, with a single white flower, which is what your white flower is looking like.. however we need to see the flower fully open and showing the cane and foliage connected with it, and from where it's coming up at the base...  

    ..what little foliage and stem I can see from that picture looks like a sucker to me, but if you're sure it's not then it may be weather related.. best wishes..

    I don't know yet Dove, won't be able to tell till it opens. It's not a sucker,and it wasn't there last year.its quite a small bush,they are single flowers quite flat and open,I will put a picture when it opens

    Hubby has Traced it back,it's above the crown. It has a mass of tiny buds as usual, course we can't see yet what colour they are going to be. It's ironic, because that is my MAUVE bed,!!

    He says that one was planted last spring the other one same name that has been in 5 years,has a mauve flower out and 2 pink and white buds will take pictures when its opened

    Blue Roses just do not exist, commercially speaking that is, however the first blue rose is on its way as it has been grown by a bunch of mad Australian and Japanese Scientists. The lucky blighters have discovered the holy grail of the rose world!

    I never said it was s blue rose merely it's name I said it was mauve. There are very few true blues in flowers
