What is wrong with my Fatsia japonica ?

Planted in April 2020 - had been healthy until about 2 weeks ago - I have watered and fed - but it looks dead ?

I would think that is damage caused by the cold weather. It may recover so don't dig it out yet.

They're actually very tough, but they do get damaged by cold weather. I prune mine every year to some extent because it always looks rough after winter.
Don't keep feeding it, because it won't be able to take up food when it's just trying to maintain the growth it has. Just let it recover by itself, and you can take off any stems completely which don't revive.
They're really quite low maintenance, and as long as they have a suitable position, enough moisture, and reasonable soil, they're fine.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
