Help with identifying blue geranium

didywdidyw Posts: 3,573
I planted this yonks ago and rediscovered it last year when tackling our very neglected garden.  It looked rather pretty growing up among all of the wild grass that had taken over the border but the grass had to come out and so did the geranium.  I split it and replanted the younger rhizomes.  I like it - but I have no idea what variety it is.  Can anyone help?

I have a white Geranium Renardii that has similar looking leaves. Could it be a Renardii hybrid, maybe Phillipe Vapelle?

    Hmm - could be @Nollie.  It's not a name I recognise though.

The other Renardii hybrid I’ve come across is Orkney Dawn, which I wanted but couldn’t get - of course it might not be that type anyway, just the soft, frilled leaves looked familiar and very different to my other geraniums.

It looks very like Philippe Vapelle to me too. I used to grow it.

Thanks guys.  We'll settle on Geranium Renardii 'Philippe Vapelle'.  I like the idea of a white one...
