Salvia planting advice

Hi, ocd just planted this salvia but now seen the card says dig a hole twice it’s size… is this pot too small for it? Or will it be ok? Thanks!

    I would say the same. Fine for this year. Next spring, take it out of the pot and plant it in the ground, or, because it looks as if it's a herbaceous type (multiple shoots coming from below soil/compost level) you could divide it and put a piece back in the pot with fresh compost and the rest in the ground.
