Not sure, but I'd take a punt on either a Daphne or Hebe

The way that the newest leaves are growing looks Hebe-ish to me.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Thanks both I with go with the Hebe and wait to see what the flowers come out like.... if it flowers this year! It doesn’t appear to be getting ready to flower so far this year!
