Plant id please

Don't know why the photos appeared sidewards on, sorry.
I think two of these plants are the same, but not sure about the third. I think I recall small yellow flowers on one of them, though nothing really compared with the size of the foliage.

    I think the top one is possibly a Helianthus, maybe "Lemon Queen".

    Thanks, AnniD. I think you are right, little sunflowers each year, I remember buying it now that you've named it. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

    The second one is a phlox (leaf vein pattern is a match to mine) and I think the third one looks like Veronica spicata.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    Thank you JennyJ. You may well be right about both plants, as I have bought phlox and veronica in the past. I remember the sunflower flowering now that AnniD has identified it, but the other two just seemed to have sprouted all of a sudden, and I don't recall either of them flowering. However, it's saved them from being moved to a quiet corner, and if they do flower, I'll come back and post pictures.
