Corkscrew Hazel - is grafting the only way?

Hi! I am looking for some advice please regarding taking cuttings of Corkscrew Hazel - if I take cuttings can it grow from them into a tree or should they only be grafted? I have never heard of anyone growing one from a cutting and it turning into a tree or one living without being on grafted stock.

The reason for asking is we have one in our garden which has been planted in too small a space for it right next to another tree so we are unable to dig it out to remove it in autumn.

thank you

Yes it is possible to grow them from cuttings.
It has an advantage over the grafted ones as it does not sucker.
    Good luck.
