Choisya leaves yellowing

The external leaves on my established choisya are yellow, the ones further inside the shrub are lovely healthy looking dark green. Many of the flower buds have got caught by frost this year, is there a connection?  It does need a prune , has it just got too big for itself and run out of nutrients?
