My next door neighbour has mown at all since they moved in during April. There are no flowers as the grass was always kept short previously, but the long grass is making for wonderful cover habitat for critters like our frogs.
But also a very nasty, pernicious little clover that gets everywhere given half a chance.
OH is not doing no mow May again. The only reasonable bit of grass we had was a nightmare to mow again once May was over and we have a huge area of "no-mow-once the swalllows arrive" which will have to suffice.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

It's really hard to pull up and remove @Fire. I have it growing in all sorts of pots thanks to inadequately sterilised compost last year. It's a pain to pull out when I come to re-pot or plant out as it has tough stems and roots.
I've also got it in a large patch of gravel at the front of the house and we've hoed and raked it out several times but teeny bits just make new plants. Planning to use a flame thrower next time to burn any bits left plus any seeds.

No mow May, June, July. The chicory has self seeded into the little lawn by the pond and looks lovely in the morning. They look like dead sticks by later afternoon as the flowers close up early.
