Help me identify this plant please...

Anyone out there know whatthis plant is? It has never had what look like flower buds on before

    Sweet William (Dianthus barbatus). The tufty bit on top is the start of the flower buds.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
