    Mine was given as a teeny plant, long past optimum planting time so I just bunged it in where I knew I'd improved the soil a bit and could water easily and it would be out of the hottest hours of sun.  It seems to have worked and last year I had 2 new plants appear and this year there are 3 so OH has been warned off weeding in there.

    He tends to do blitz weeding rather than selective pulling or hoeing and would probably think it's a weed anyway when little.

    Yes it's a very similar situation here. I'm going to put it with my anthriscus ravenswing - it's in a bed with very similar conditions to those you describe @Obelixx
