    I'm afraid it's the infamous invasive Japanese knotweed. >:)

    No, @Nollie, not my garden, but the rear of a house I was asked to look over for a prospective purchaser.

    Tell prospective purchasers not to touch the house with a barge pole.
    Many building socs will not give a mortgage if JNW in the garden.
    In that garden it will be everywhere with roots under the slabs.
    Possibly even coming up inside the house.
    Oh dear...not good.
    Very expensive to get pro's in to deal with it.
