Rowan Tree

My grandson was mowing the grass at the side of the house and literally mowed down one of my young Rowan trees..
is there anything that can be done to save it. It was an accident but I am very upset...it was about 3 - 4 feet high.

There's nothing that can be done about the top bit.  Possibly the base may respond as if it's been coppiced and you'll get a very fashionable multi-stemmed tree starting to grow in a couple of years' time.

To give it the best chance of regrowing, clear a circle of ground around the tree and keep it free of grass and weeds so that the tree doesn't have competition, and to reduce the risk of it being mowed again. Do the same for your other young trees.
