Yet another brown patchy lawn,

Hi all,
I’m aware there are a few threads about brown patchy lawns, and here is ours. We would be grateful of any advice to keep our lawn from dying back and reverting to the mossy scrub it was before.

I’m hoping that this is natural die back after laying new turf. We laid it mid April. We have watered morning and evening and left off mowing til 3 weeks ago when growth reached around 10 cm. that was in the highest setting. Since the rains have been plentiful of late I’ve not watered for fear of over watering.
After that first mow, the second was one setting down and this length was the last mow two days ago.
should we water more? Feed? Not mow it again? Sadly I’m a novice at lawn care.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to your advice.

I'd be dead chuffed if our lawn looked as good as that ... and yours will look even better now that the warmer weather is about to speed up the growth of the grass.

I think you should just carry on as you are ... no need to feed ... mow once a week on a medium setting and stand well back ... it's going to look fabulous  B)

  • Ah,
Fabulous news. Thanks DoveFromAbove I did suspect I may be being a bit of a worry wart over it. We'll carry on as we have and see how we go.
