Decent spray bottle?

Hi all,

I'm on the lookout for a decent spray bottle to use on my tomato plants (regular spray of aspirin to keep the bugs at bay).

I've just gone to grab mine and I stupidly left some water in it from last year, and with all the frosts we've had the thing has cracked.

Most I've seen online have thin plastic which means it crumples on itself when spraying - much like my (now broken) one did.

Thanks in advance!

I use an old kitchen cleaner spray bottle, well washed of course. Much easier to use and a better mist spray than the 'garden' one I had before :)

I've got a couple of the hozelock ones and they have been very reliable

lots of shops sell them aside from the linked one.

I have this 2 litre one from Wilko that works just fine. At only £4 you can’t go wrong.

Never heard of spraying tomatoes with aspirin, but never had an y bugs on them anyway. I spent a lot of money buying the pressurised ones, found they didn't last 5 minutes, got cheap cheerful coloured ones on e bay,on the end,got over 30 Orchids!

I endorse what Buttercupdays says.  Who on earth would buy something they've already 'bought' full of cleaning fluid, I can't imagine.  With the amount of them I get to put in the recycling, it's possible to have one for each liquid a gardener might want to spray.  In my case I also save the clear plastic tubes to use as makeshift wallplugs OR, with a long thin screw inside, they make bird friendly perches for nest boxes.

Thanks all for the replies - will give recycled bottles a go and if they're not sufficient I'll grab one of the others.

    Many thanks!

Never sprayed a tomato in my life ... never had any bugs on ‘em either ... but I heartily endorse the re-use of spray bottles ... give them a soak and thorough rinsing and they’re fine. 😊

I've noticed a lot of 'product' sprays now have non-removable tops.  Presumably because of some perceived threat regarding tampering, rather than a deliberate anti re-use policy, one would hope..
