Epsom salts - probably a daft question!

ErgatesErgates Posts: 2,953
I have a camellia with yellowing leaves. It was in a pot for probably more years than it should have been, but planted in the ground now for two years. I was hoping the leaves would green up, but they haven’t really improved much, although it did flower well this year.
I have given it a drink of Epsom salts, in case it had a mineral deficiency, and I was wondering if any improvement will only show on new leaves as they emerge, or is there any chance that the existing leaves might start to green up?

Camellia prefer acid soils,   I would give it a dose of seaweed with sequestered iron. The old leaves may not green up, but the  new ones should be better.

Very acid soil here, and all my other camellias are doing well. Hoping it will improve with some TLC but it sounds as if I won’t see any improvement until the new leaves outnumber the existing ones.
    Thanks.
