Borage plant leave have white stuff onnowy

Hi, My borage plant has very healthy green leaves, but now have white stuff on. How can I help the plant to remove this.Are the leaves edible when it’s attacked like this?

    A photo would help. 'White stuff' covers a lot of possibilities. 
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    It's mildew. I can't imagine it's very dry where you are...  but that's often why plants get it. I don't think the leaves would taste that nice, but you could try washing the mould off. The flowers would be fine to eat when they arrive.
