Liquid Amber

I've just planted a previously healthy 3ft tall liquid amber.  I staked it in high winds because it was bending right over and now the leaves have gone droopy.  Will it die?  The leaves still look healthy apart from drooping.  Thanks Debra

It could be transplant shock. There’s excellent advice here from the RHS and I would systematically work my way through the potential causes and apply the appropriate solutions.

If your liquidambar is not root bound I think the most likely cause is our recently adverse weather - a cold, bone dry April and a cool, wet, windy May. Despite all the recent rain, lack of moisture is the most likely cause but, being perverse, it could be too much water.

Thank you, I've read it through and as you say, its probably over or under-watering, I'll have a dig around the surrounding area and see how it checks out.  I think its more likely that I've over-watered at the same time as we've been having lots of rain.  The leaves are green and still intact so that's one positive.
