Is this Dragonfly larvae?

  • They are the moulted skins from which adult dragonflies emerged.

Thanks, so these will just decompose now?

    Amazing. Are they on irises?

I can't wait to get our new pond established. We had a great number of damselflies and dragonflies when I decommissioned the old pond last summer and I hope the new, three-times larger, pond delivers the goods again.

    Yes, I think they're irises.

Our pond is only a year old and within days of putting it in we had frogs and then more wildlife as the weeks went by, we've got loads of newts now too, it's just so lovely to sit and watch wildlife come and go.

They are really cool! I think I'd keep them!
