Temporary lawn spray

I know it sounds simple (and maybe it is) but I dont want to get this wrong. I need to mark (temporarily) lines all around my lawn (I'm laying boundary wire for a lawn mower). The problem is that everything seems to be permanent or semi-permanent. Perhaps I'm over thinking it but I cannot seem to find a product that allows me to spray a white line that will dissapear after a few hours or days rather than months or worse still, be permanent! Any help would be greatly received. Thank you!

Surely once the grass grows, the mower will trim off the white lines.
You could use sand, or bamboo canes and string (which is what I've used in the past)

  • I'm being thick. It's grass so even if it's permanent it will grow out out/be cut anyway

Flour works really good, just dust it along your line.  A small mesh strainer works, just over the rope you have stretched out as your straight line, shaking it a few inches above the grass.  Or you can lay out your hose, then just use your hand to throw down flour over the top.. and when you pull up the hose you'll see a nice green line left.
