Young Magnolia

I bought 2 magnolia trees but don’t seem to be doing well, one as just about lost the few leaves it had, the other one is doing better I have sprayed them with washing up liquid for bugs and feeding what am I doing wrong please

    Well, first, what are you doing so far? Where are they planted, what sort of soil, how much sun or shade, how much watering? Were they from a garden centre or did they need hardening off? Do you know what type of magnolia they are? A picture could really help, too.
    I suggest you don't spray or feed them until you know more about the problem.
