Rosa complicata

I have been given a healthy rosa complicata by a friend who  is a whizz at rose cuttings.   As it's a once flowering rose with open flowers I want to put it in the wilder part of the garden where it can do its thing for pollinators and get as big as it wants. 

The RHS says full sun but will tolerate a north facing aspect.   David Austin site says partial shade.  Neither mentions hips.

Does anyone grow this rose and have any views on its benefits to wildlife and/or the best position for it?

    A look in here https://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=2.1269&tab=36&qn=1&qc=0 shows that it produces hips, plus it would sucker on its own roots, so will grow big. I am no expert but can head over to rose forum here where we have some really knowledgeable people.

    I had mine in full sun and it had hips. It was so beautiful when in flower, wished it had repeated though. I had to leave it behind when I moved.

    I wonder what's complicata about it. It seems to have a beautifully simple flower🤔
