Connection between tv and wifi

Currently my home internet is broken
I want to know if I can tether my phone to my TV and use my 4G network?
I’ve managed to get my phone connected to the Sony TV but it says connected no internet

I’ve tried resetting the network on phone and of course restarting all devices

just wondering if it will work or do I need my phone to be on wifi for it to work . william at best buy geek squad appointment helpdesk suggested to reset the tv. After resetting the television it is working fine without any issue.

    Wrong in that this is the Potting Shed where plenty of non gardening subjects are discussed.  Right in that the post was so obviously an advert for a company.
