Sweet peas / Clitorea Ternatea Do I need to tie

Hi - first time planting these, grown ftom seed in root trainers - do I need to tie them in now ? They had been punched out ages ago and kept in in unheated  GH

    I usually tie mine in, though this year I've got some twiggy prunings which I've poked in the soil beside each plant, for them to climb initially.  If they're left lying on the soil they're very likely to get munched by passing slugs and snails, in my experience.
    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    You'll need to tie in sweet peas regularly. They rarely 'stay' conveniently on the supports  :)
    I wouldn't add a mulch of any kind. Just somewhere for slugs to lurk. Sweet peas need a lot of food and water to give their best. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    so - I heard it on GQT and looked dit up and thought- I MUST grow it  :D
