Agapanthus in metal buckets ??

Hello,
I need to divide a deciduous agapanthus and would it be possible to plant them in metal buckets.

Many thanks.

I wouldn't have thought this is a good idea as the metal would be too hot in the sun for the roots. You would also have to drill holes in the bottom for drainage.

You can if you have drainage holes - plenty - and if you line them with something like bubble wrap to protect the roots from heat and cold.

I tried it once. They were not happy.
I use the metal buckets for Tulips now as it's never so hot when they're growing.
