Weird flower on a Hosta

Does anyone know what these are on mine and my mum's Hosta? I had one on mine about a month ago, it grew along with the first leaf and then my mum has had one grow on her hosta (which mine was split from). I can't see it anywhere online. Thank you

They look like flower spikes, but a bit stumpy.

Isn’t that how the flower stem starts growing?

not uncommon. Some say it's a form of fasciation, but I'm not entirely convinced.
