Help with tree

I planted a beautiful Rowan tree last year which has done well until two weeks ago. I returned from holiday to find that several of the new leaves at the end of the branches had curled round each other. I cannot see lots of greenfly or ants  but some of the leaves had tiny yellow eggs. I have tried to blast the leaves with water to no avail and ended up pruning the new shoots. Needless to say more shoots are now curling in on themselves & I can't see the culprit.
Any ideas? Thanks

Moths lay their eggs on foliage on all sorts of plants, and rowans have their fair share.
If it's otherwise healthy, I wouldn't be worried. Rowans shrug off most problems.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thank you Fairygirl Thats very reassuring. Will the curled up new leaves recover though?

Probably. I wouldn't be worried as long as the tree is healthy otherwise.
    Rowans are very tough  :)
