Sad looking tomato plants

So this year, I thought I'd grow my toms/cukes from seed. They germinated lovely and were more than happy on the heated tray in the window.
They've been indoors up until now and have romped away, but they now look pretty sorry for themselves, with many of their leaves yellow, or just very pale green.
I've got about 5 plants and they are all doing this.
To give you some context, the plant on the left in the pictures is a shop bought one of the same variety and is much more healthy

Can someone suggest what's going wrong? I thought magnesium  or other nutrient deficiency. It can't be pests as the plants were looking like this before going outside.

I think you can blame the weather.
The white on the leaves is likely due to sunburn.
Were they indoors then put out and had direct sun on them?
They are rather leggy too due to a lack of decent light when they were smaller

The crazy weather this year is causing all sorts of problems

Paint coolglass on the glasshouse roof would prevent sun damage.
  • Thanks for the replies. They have had a *lot* of sun both indoors and since going in the greenhouse, so I'll provide some shade out there for them. Seems ironic as it's blowing 40mph winds & sideways rain outside at the moment!

My tomatoes are just like yours. I am sick of the weather and blame it for the problems. Too hot then freezing , now biblical rain .All the plants no matter what they are , are getting a raw deal this year. I don’t think the problems are anything you/I have done/ not done ,it’s just the way it is .
