Long shot, but does anyone know of a resource where I can find out the reasons behind the naming of a (variety/breed/species/cultivar - what would Pelargonium Australian Mystery be)? 

I took some cuttings last year, and now they're flowering I want to give one to my Australian friend. Just wondered where I could find out where the name came from...

    I think for cultivar names you'd probably need to contact the breeder in most cases. Occasionally something like that will be referred to in publicity (eg 'new releases' on a nursery website or for a flower show) but that is likely to be a tiny proportion.

    All I can find is that it was introduced by Swanland Nurseries in the UK in 1990.
