Lawn growing at different rates and not upwards
Hello all!
I’ve not posted on a forum before, then again I’ve not had a garden before!
Long story short - I lifted up a large paved courtyard garden, dug up all the sand foundations and loosened all the soil adding 4inches of compost on top.
I seeded the area 5 weeks ago and it germinated in 7 days. Both areas were treated the same, same amount of daily sun, watered morning and night when there’s been no rainfall and has barely been walked over.
The right side of the lawn is growing great, tall and strong almost ready for its first mow.
The left side is struggling, it’s like it’s hit it’s growing peak and not getting any higher than 2-3cms, about 50% of the blades are starting to lay flattish rather than up straight proud towards the sun despite their short length.

My questions:
1. should I mow because the rest of the lawn is ready for it’s first cut? The mower blades at the highest will be perfect for the majority lawn but probably won’t touch the left side area.

2. What can I do to rectify this?
I’m an absolute newbie to gardening so any help/feedback is appreciated!
Thank you,
