Crocosmia Lucifer not showing up

Hi all
This is my first post here so please be gentle! A month or two ago I planted a dozen Crocosmia Lucifer corms and they still havent sprouted. Is this normal?  I understand it has been a colder than usual spring.  I am in Southwest Scotland.

A few days ago I also planted a further 20 corms I bought on offer in B&Q, will these flower this season?

Thanks for any advice!

I dug up, split and moved a clump in March and it has taken a while for that to get going. There still aren't as many shoots as there are corms. New corms are likely to be smaller and drier than mine were and I don't think you need worry too much yet. you should get some flowers, but shorter and later than usual perhaps. You'll see a difference next year :)
Once established it just keeps growing - I threw out one third of my clump, as I have 4 already and nowhere else to put more!
  • Thank you for the reassurance! I will keep an eye on them, I've never grown them before so wasn't sure what to expect!
