This doesn't seem to have standard tomato leaves but was mixed up with my tomato seeds

Hi, can anyone help me ID this seedling before I potentially spend a lot of time caring for something I don't want? It was mixed up in a cheap bag of various tomato seeds and I didn't notice anything amiss until it germinated so I assume the seed didn't stick out as strange. It just doesn't look like all the other tomatoes! :D

Thank you!

Hi @blanaid1993 and welcome to the forum  :)

Some tomato varieties have leaves which are shaped more like those of potato plants (they are cousins after all).
Do they smell like tomato leaves?  If so that's what they'll be.

  • @Dovefromabove Thank you so much! And thank you for the welcome :)

Cool information to learn and I believe there were some possible brandywines in the mix of seeds so I suppose these are those!

Brandywine is a great tomato ... superb flavour ... it can take a while to mature and fruit so lets hope we have a good summer and a warm autumn ..... think we deserve it after this month's performance  :/

I have a variety of tomato with seedlings just like that.  Mine are called 'Yellow Submarine'.

I have a variety called Tamina which also has leaves slightly different from the normal ones.
