Poorly Chilli Plant

Hello everyone!

My Habanero chilli plant seems to be a bit poorly.. the leaves at the top of the plant are starting to curl. There are no pests.. and its not over watered (or under watered either I don't think). Any ideas?

Not sure why the photo has gone landscape!

Thanks

Tim

I'd decant it and check the roots for rotting off.  Difficult to see the depth of container but a combination of too large a pot and too wet soft compost could be the cause.
If on a windowsill overnight, cold may come into it as well.
Chillies prefer to be warm and kept slightly drier than you may think - the weather we are dealing with lately doesn't help either  :/

my guess would be that it's too close to the window as Philippa says.
It'll get cold at night and if it's a sunny spot would then get very hot when the sun is out. They like temps somewhere in the 20's day and night. Ideally top 20's during the day.
Even if you move it away from the window just at night I think that would be a big help.

I grow mine in the greenhouse, but those close to the door (when it's open all day and not very sunny) sometimes get leaf deformation

  • Thanks all I will try moving it away from the window at night to start and see how if that helps. If not will repot incase its thats.

    Thanks again!
