Steep embankment ideas

Hi all

Having issues with a steep embankment. Once the bulbs die away the weeds quickly take over. Planted some geraniums and vinca that I thought would take over but this hasn’t been the case.

Any suggestions for ground cover that’s not weeds!

I've got a ground covering Teucrium which has pink flowers and is now rapidly colonising my sloping rockery (inherited). Unfortunately I can't remember which variety it is, got it from a specialist grower at Malvern one year. Another good plant is the prostrate rosemary and also thyme.

Ajuga makes a good mat, but as with any ground cover you need to keep it weeded while it gets established.  I've also used variegated ivy over a very shady bank.  It looked good and worked pretty well to suppress weeds.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Muehlenbeckia complexa makes a good ground cover - it grows quickly and when you want to transplant some to another area you just pull a clump up and plant elsewhere - and I think it's very pretty :)

Thanks all. Think fleabane would work?
