schizostylis

I went to clear some old leaves of schizostylis today and plants just came away in my hand - the bottoms had green mould ? Any ideas - I know we have had rain recently but wouldn’t expect it to be like that! At first I wondered if something was eating the roots until i noticed the mould ? Anybody experienced this and can advise ? Thanks

Could have been vine weevils grubs eaten the roots away. The plant will then just rot and die.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • Thanks Lyn, nothing obvious in the soil - but I will check again.
