Help! Dwarf sunflower drooping/wilting.:(

I am a complete novice, I planted the seed directly into a pot and put it on my balcony with more than 8 hours of sun a day. It grew and bloomed a flower with some buds ready to bloom as well but there seems to be few leaves and they are drooping, the flower also seems to lack of life even though it has only been blooming for a few days. I give 1 cup of water a day, is that too little or too much? It's currently summer where i live and the temperature is 30"C/91"F. I saw many ants climbing my sunflower and already got rid of them, could they have damaged it?  :s Thanks in advance! :)

I would recommend giving it a good soak with a bucket every few days and let it fully drain. They are thirsty plants. Hopefully it will perk up.

Just to add that I don't think ants are much trouble but either way, the extra water should help (both with hydrating the plant but also with the ants as they don't like water). If your balcony gets much wind then as the sunflower grows taller you might want to stake it (tie it loosely) to give it some support. Even though it's a dwarf variety, in an exposed area it could still damage and it looks like the stem is still quite slim and not completely sturdy.
