Are these radish

WilderbeastWilderbeast Posts: 1,415

So I sowed radish about 5 weeks ago and have been taking a couple for the kitchen. Decided today to get a bunch to try roasted radish, I was most surprised to find these great monsters. There slightly smaller then a tennis ball while still having a radish taste and good texture. Is this some rogue radish or is it normal that they get this big of left

Given the propensity for Giant this and Giant that, you could perhaps sell it on Ebay :D

IME, if they get too large, they often tend to go a bit woody so I'd say you were lucky that both texture and flavour were good.  What variety were they ?

@Nanny Beach indeed about the size of a decent beetroot. @philippasmith2 I need to dig out the packet to see on variety, they are all pretty much that big though. Neighbours just said they look like moulie (that's my guess as I haven't had chance to Google them as yet).

@Wilderbeast - I used to grow Moolie and as far as I can recall, the edible roots were always long and thin as opposed to round.  They were a later harvest than the basic radish.
